Xavier Adibi is the kind of player that gets hurt in a game on Monday, and comes back on Thursday to make 8 tackles, including 2 sacks. That’s the kind of player you want in the NFL. He was part of the Hokies most successful linebacker tandems and some have called him one of the best linebackers in college football. His speed is an asset to any team, as is his ability to rush effectively. Speculation is that he will make it to the second round only but that remains to be seen.
Adibi was rated the 12th-best player in the Mid-Atlantic region and the top prospect in the state of Virginia by Tom Lemming’s Prep Football Report. He was ranked the best player in Virginia by The Roanoke Times and rated the fourth-best linebacker in the nation and the premier player in Virginia by Super Prep. He added first-team All-Region accolades, along with picking up first-team AAA Coaches and Associated Press All-State recognition at defensive end as a junior.
Born Xavier Oyekola Adibi, he is the son of Hampton University college professor, Abiodun, and Leanne Adibi. His brother, Nathaniel Adibi, played for the Hokies too as a defensive end. His father played soccer at Oklahoma State, so athleticism is definitely in the genes. To read more about him visit the NFL draft website.
