Ade Akinbiyi is a veteran soccer player who has played for 11 English clubs, including Gillingham, Bristol City, Wolves, Leicester and Stoke. His 16-year career has been quite eventful with him scoring a total of 105 league goals throughout his career. He is currently with Clarets but is hoping to be able to play with the Houston Dynamos this weekend if the transfer paperwork is complete on time.
Akinbiyi is 34 years old but feels that he has enough years left in him to do a great job for the Dynamos.
In other news, Malian international striker, Mamady Sidibe, has been sidelined with an injury to his cruciate ligament. With conflicting diagnoses from two specialists, it is not clear whether he will be out for a few weeks or up to nine months. Sidibe is scheduled to see two more specialists on Thursday and Friday for a final diagnosis.
Sidibe was Stoke City’s player-of-the-year in 2008 and has scored three Premier League goals in 22 appearances this season.
