Egypt Fights For It’s Right to Keep The Cup

Ahmed Hassan celebrates

In a splendid match between Cameroon and Egypt, Egypt finally won with a goal in the 77th minute. Egypt showed remarkable control throughout the game, reminding people why they were considered the best in the league. Egyptians celebrated their win with jubilant dancing in the streets, and honking of horns. Cameroon played it’s best but was no real match for the Egyptians who have shown remarkable discipline and great team play in all their games. As an aside, Egypt is the only team that has an African coach. Maybe the other teams may have better luck if they follow suit.

Cameroon played a defensive game but were inspired by the team spirit that Egypt showed. Patrick Mboma noted that it helped that they had local players who knew each other very well, so they were able to build on their experience with each other and present a cohesive front.

Overall the African Cup of Nations has showcased the undisputable talent that is available in Africa today.  Tremendous soccer was played, and the teams complimented each other as they fell in the match-ups.  There was obviously a great deal of respect for the skills of the other players, and overall good sportsmanship.  Great games, great soccer.  What more can a fan ask for?

The problem with the Egyptian team, that they play very well against big names, but then they are very weak infront of the no names teams
