For The Love Of The Game

World Cup 2010

At least less than 10 fans died this weekend in Liberia trying to be part of the already over-crowded audience at the Samuel K staduim, where the first 2010 World Cup qaulifying game took place.

Whilst the game between Liberia and Gambia took place, ending with 1-1 draw between the two countries, corruption erupted outside the stadium as a security man re-sold tickets to desperate fans, not taking into consideration the capacity of people the stadium could hold. The deceased died from suffocation and from trying to be part of what they loved the most, soccer.

Condolences to all they family members and may they souls rest in peace.
