When they say you can’t keep a good woman down, they are talking about Despite being wheelchair-bound due to Polio, she has represented Nigeria in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Paralympics. And she has represented well!

A relative newcomer to the powerlifting field (she started power lifting in 2000), she has managed to parlay her skills into silver medal with a lift of 102.5 kg in the 2000 Olympics; a gold medal with a lift of 127.5 kg in the 44kg category (she broke the world record twice); and a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, again breaking the world record twice–first with a weight of 125kg in the 48 kg category, and then with a weight of 130 kg.
It will be interesting to see if she will break any more records this year.
