Madieu Williams is one of the highest paid safeties in the NFL today, thanks to a deal that he signed earlier this year with the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings signed a 6-year, $33 million contract with him in the hopes that he will help build their pass coverage.
Madieu, a Sierra Leonean safety, was previously with the Cincinnati Bengals but was recruited heavily by the Vikings. He is better known for his ability to cover than his hitting, but that should be enough to help make his team improve overall (he should, at that price).
It will be interesting to watch him play the game with Vishante Shiancoe, a fellow African teamate who is also a gifted tight-end. Seems to me the Vikings want to make a big impact this year.
