Sulley Muntari – Portsmouth FC’s Midfielder

Sulley Muntari

Sulley Muntari has a powerful kick that is already making an impact in the African Cup of Nations 2008. He was part of the team that played in the finals against Argentina in the 2001 World Youth Cup. He signed up with an Italy team, Udinese, and played for them for a while, helping them get to several championship matches. In 2006 he played for Ghana in the World Cup with fellow countryman Micheal Essien, a game that made the Ghanian team a team to be remembered as they fought hard against the German team. He has already made his mark with Portsmouth, and is a strong fan favorite. He is also the first choice for penalty kicks that he seems to be able to complete quite effectively.

His talent has been somewhat marred by a temper that interferes with his ability to play the game. He has had to sit out some games and is working on curbing his temper so that he can play more.
