Victor Abiamiri | Philadelphia Eagles | Defensive End |#78
Victor Abiamiri was born to Nigerian parents in Baltimore, Maryland. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles from University of Notre Dame in 2007 and has already proven to be a crucial part of the Philly defensive line in his rookie year.
While at Notre Dame, he was Notre Dame’s Lineman of the Year in 2005, second-team 2006 pre-season All-America defensive end by Athlon, The Sporting News number-five defensive end in college football for `06, and named to the Hendricks award watch list.
Prior to that, he was considered the one to watch during his high school career. Awards during high school include all-metro honors from Baltimore Sun as a junior with 16 sacks, five tackles and two sacks in U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, was eighth on ESPN’s list of nation’s top 100 players, and was 23rd on The Sporting News’ Hot 100.
He also competed in basketball and track and field and was voted all-conference for three seasons in both basketball and, track and field. He was team MVP in basketball as a junior and senior, and as a senior in track and served as a team captain in football, basketball, and track as a senior. Talk about an overachiever! Well you know how we Africans do!!
