The African fashion industry has grown during the past years to emerge from a small struggling industry to one of the biggest industries to look out for. From designers struggling for events and ways to professionally showcase their creations, to multiple fashion weeks around the South African region highlighting both its biggest names, and rising stars like David Tlale, Sun Goddess, Stone Cherry, Bongiwe Walaza, Gideon, Craig Native, and Gavin Rajah.
Fashion has taken such a diverse turn giving the international industry a run for they money–the creations from these designers have the Marc Jacobs , Calvein Kleins, and Michael Kors not only talking, but taking notice.
With the industry’s successful growth, it is no suprise that South Africa has launched their first fashion magazine television series ever, with a vision to globally promote and
recognize the leading authorities in African fashion, related strategic marketing initiatives, and African fashion brands. It also aims to improve the quality of fashion design output from Africa, promote African brands, and raise the bar in the African fashion industry.
The first show was more successful than had been predicted, showing clearly that the dream most designers have to see people choose local brands rather than the Tommy Hilfigers or other international brands is coming true. History is clealy taking place as a way is being paved for the up and coming talents.

I read about Jamati and all the comments;my soul becomes deeply touched to witness Africans beating mediocre odds. How can we assist…?We are a digital magazine;recieved on mobilephones and emails. We managed to squash the shelf, visual to pics into a card to be available in gaint retailers nationally.
Keep the spirit burning…!
