Oswald Boateng showcases African print suits at New York Fashion Week

British-Ghanaian fashion designer, Ozwald Boateng on Thursday   took over the Big Apple in style when Arise Magazine hosted its African Icons Collective including Gavin Rajah (South Africa), Tiffany Amber (Nigeria), Tsemaye Binitie (UK/Nigeria) and Maki Oh (Nigeria) at the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week

Ozwald Boateng surprised the  audience by taking African Fashion to a whole new level with his wax print tailored blazers on the runway. The Bespoke designer presented an array of sharp tailored suit ranging from bright colours to more subtle work-wear worthy. They included tribal-printed hemmed pockets as well as sharply tailored wax print blazers underlain with collarless satin dress shirts. The other half of his collection focused more on casuals; white short-sleeved shirts with wax print paneling, bibs and collars, there were also a number of shorts in sight both print and not.

Those prints are just bold and beautiful.Yet, they still looked very masculine… makes me proud to be African!
