Ruby Lingerie is an independent lingerie and accessory brand based in Cape Town, South Africa. Its owner and designer, Robyn Lidsky created her collection of women underwear and jewelry ensemble with a unique style and originality.

Ladies, if you are looking for something more than the vanilla products in your average department store, Ruby Lingerie is for you! Your femininity and comfort do not have to be compromised with the sumptuous and luxurious feel of Ruby Lingerie.

Ruby Lingerie uses mostly imported fabrics, fused with French, Spanish and Italian laces. All of the lingerie is manufactured in South Africa, in a cutting-edge export oriented environment. The collection has every style; from conservative bikinis, to boy shorts, to the famous g-strings. Satisfaction for every individual’s taste in intimate apparel is guaranteed.

Ruby also carries a line of accessories. This line is made up of contemporary beaded jewelry created with the use of traditional skills and beading techniques that merge urban African designs with today’s fashion trends. The accessory line is a perfect complement to the lingerie line. All of the jewelry are original pieces handmade by the Ruby Beading Circle – a group of 30 local women of Cape Town, employed by the owner as a fair trade job initiative for bead workers. Talk about entrepreneurship! Ruby embraces the ideal of creating jobs for the people, by the people!

Ruby Lingerie launched it’s Summer/Spring 07/08 limited edition T-shirt/Panty [combo] collection, combining playful and sexy, in natural cotton, sensual satins, rich laces and customized t-shirts, with Japanese bird-motif embroidery or glitter iron-on prints. You can’t go wrong with a matching “combo” pack of one of these embellished t-shirts and hipster panties, or live on the wild side and make it a t-shirt/g-string combo. Whatever you fancy, Ruby Lingerie has it.

The Ruby collections have been showcased at SA/Cape Town fashion week in Johannesburg (2002 through 2006), at the Magic and Pool shows in Las Vegas (2005/2006), and in Runway Africa in September of 2007. This was the first of its kind to debut in the U.S. with an entire couture fashion show dedicated to Africhic.

Fans of the Tyra Banks show, America’s Next Top Model may remember Ruby Lingerie as one of the designers in the episode that was shot in South Africa. Other major local and international media such as F-TV, US Elle, Cosmopolitan, GQ, FHM and Marie Claire (SA) have also featured Ruby Lingerie.
