Japan is known for its beautiful kimonos, and Serge Mouangue, a Cameroonian, is interested in celebrating the similarities between Japan and Africa through this traditional outfit. He studied applied art, interior design, and industrial design in France. He went to work for Nissan Motor Company as a concept car designer and then moved back into fashion design.
The kimonos are designed with African fabric but still maintain the integrity of a traditional kimono. Already creating a buzz in Japan, this creative fashion designer is making a difference in our concept of what a Kimono is. The prints are about 18 prints from all over Africa.
