Top 10 Sexiest African Women - 2007

Genevieve is Nollywood's brightest star. She has appeared in countless movies and is also a singer and spokesmodel. She is the face for Lux soap. She released an album titled No More. Genevieve says music was her first love even before acting but it is definately acting that has made her the star she is today. She has played everything from a love interest to a 'shoot em up' chick. Some call her Sharon Stone. We call her sexy.

African women are making major moves and looking good while doing it. Our list started off with 50 women from all over Africa. Narrowing it down to 10 was not an easy task. 10 women from 10 different African countries made our final cut. This list is no particular order.

What is up with the white chick? Why does the Eurocentric ways have to always filter through? The women are beautiful, but I’d much rather see women who exudes pure African beauty , not women who have succumb to the American beauty standards a heavily dabble in such.

I want to see the other 40+ sistas left of the list, then make up my own dam list…..Having said that, photos do lie.I have met 3 of the above women, as I work in the media, a couple of them did not look so hot in the flesh. What they need to do is go to the villages all over Africa, and find the true African natural beautys.

these women are truly beautiful but it saddens me that so many are in diaspora. it would be nice to see original african babes, not the ones who were born and bred abroad, but the ones within africa. and their beauty is being defined according to western, not african, standards. what happened to the celebration of all round, whole african women. bring in women who are african on the inside, what do thandie newton and sade know about africa, how do they relate to us?

Next time you make a list like this, please provide us with real african men and women. What does sade know about africa. Try to search for women from french speaking african countries and portuguese speaking african countries also. The list has more americanized people than african. Please provide us with real africans.

While I do agree that all of the women presented are very beautiful, it appears that the purpose is not to celebrate typical African beauty, but to show that women who fit the Western ideal come from Africa. I think at some point, we Africans found women with African features to be beautiful, but I guess that is no longer the case.

I agree with the choice for Genevieve since I’ve also been in the list of her admirers.She is real beauty ! I only wish I could have her for my own but I still believe that there are many chicks out there in Africa that due to the fact that they are not famous/popular or known,their faces are missing in the list where which they could have fitted well.

I think that there is a healthy mix of West/East and Southern Africa in this selection.Some of the posters on here just need to stop complaining about the so called ‘Eurocentric’ feautures because we Africans come in a huge variety.

Mureka tete(congo):the first african to be on a beauty contest podium(miss universe 1985).She finished 3th
Dobala likobe(Congo):finish 5th miss universe and the secong african after Mureka to be a serious contender to the miss universe crowm
Mpule kwelagobe(botswana):the first african to be crown miss universe.She is far more beautiful than imam.
For sure east and west africa got beautiful women but facts speak a different language
