Akon helped Radio 1 celebrate their big weekend.   Alek Wek was at a  show titled “The Model As Muse: Embodying Fashion”, hosted by the Costume Institute Gala. 

Charlize Theron was spotted at the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Annual National Tribute Dinner. Amobi Okoye was spotted at the Kentucky Derby with Tom and Donna Joyner.  Interested in possibly looking fly, Kenna helped launch Carrera’s new line of sunglasses. » Read more…

Celebrity Sightings

There are many celebrities that have shown up at the Tribeca Film Festival to celebrate film.  Others were busy entertaining in their different fields, around the world.

Seal brought the house down at Radio City Music Hall in his inimitable style.  Suzanne ‘Africa’ Engo took some time out to catch a movie screening, while Mel B. lent her celebrity status to the Invisible Children organization to draw attention to the abduction of children in Uganda to force into the army. Busy, busy, busy, is what this weekend has been. There were several artists in Africa lending their name to concerts and award shows. Eve and Wyclef were in Ghana, as was Mario.

Liya Kebede showed up at two benefits for a good cause. Edi Gathegi is riding high on the excitement that his new movie, “Twilight‘, is generating. He was also at the GQ ‘Men of the Year’ party. Flo Rida was in Abuja, Nigeria for the MTV Africa Music Awards. Several celebrities received their awards or performed, including, Wahu, Alicia Keys, D’Banj, Seun Kuti, Kelly Rowland, The Game, and Jay-Jay Okocha.

Charlize Theron was named a U.N. Messenger of Peace at a U.N. Messenger of Peace induction ceremony. Iman looked fabulous when she showed up at the Save A Child charity event and Wale helped T.I. celebrate his new fashion line. » Read more…

‘RocknRolla’ premiered in London and Youssou N’dour was in Colorado at the 35th Telluride Festival.  Celestina Aladekoba helped premiere a CD.

Estelle’s label, Warner, removed her album from iTunes, in a bid to force people to purchase the entire album.  No word yet on whether it will help or hurt her. » Read more…
