Colors of the Nile International Film Festival (CNIFF) in Addis Ababa this November
The inaugural Colors of the Nile International Film Festival (CNIFF) will run in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 7-11 November 2012, introducing the best of African cinema to African audiences.
Johnny Mad Dog – from child to child soldier
‘ Johnny Mad Dog‘ is a film based on a book written by a Congolese writer, Emmanuel Dongala. He draws on his experience in the Congolese crisis to tell the story about the forceful conscription of teenage boys and girls into the army as child soldiers. Director Jean-Stephene Sauvaire and assistant director, Samuel T. Sherman, adapted the story to film with Mathieu Kassovitz as the producer.

CAF African Women’s Championship Kicks Off
Amidst little fanfare, the sixth edition of the CAF African Women’s Championship kicked off this past weekend in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. Backed by a ferocious home support, Equatorial Guinea pulled off what must surely be the upset of the tournament so far, by beating perennial powerhouse, Cameroon 1-0. In the other Group A match, Mali slumped to a 0-1 defeat against Congo.
