The excitement continues to build on the Road to the MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain (MAMA). Last week The Game and a line-up of MAMA nominees gave performances that had fans going crazy in Kinshaha. After hours spent just trying to get clearance from customs to enter the city, I’m told that The Game gave it everything he had and the crowed went wild shouting, “The Game, The Game, we love The Game”.

ZAIN, MTV Bring a Taste Of Miami To Nigeria

Flo Rida will perform for the first time in Africa at the MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain (MAMA) as MTV salutes the power of US and African hip hop. Joining the whirlwind Miami MC performing at the event will be MAMA award nominees 9ice (Best Hip Hop, Best New Act nominee), Naeto C (Best New Act nominee), Ikechukwu (Best Video nominee) and Jua Cali (Best Male nominee). I have goose bumps up and down me right now, and tears in my eyes. The idea that artists in Africa will finally receive their just do’s, sharing a stage with Flo Rida, The Game, Kelly Rowland – this is what its all about for me. Amen (and its about time)! Thank you to Zain and MTV for making this happen.

Akon Helps Crooked I “Dream Big”

Akon’s label, Konvict Music, is blazing along as he helps yet another artist realize their dreams. This time it is Crooked I who benefits from a working relationship with Konvict Music. Detail from Konvict Music will be producing the debut single for his new album, “B.O.S.S. (Beginning Of Something Serious)”. Crooked I just completed his contract with Death Row Records and is now working on building his music up to what it can be.
