South Africa to host Miss World 2008

Since the decision to move the Miss World 2008 beauty pageant from Ukraine to Johannesburg, South Africa was made in August by the Miss World organizing committee, it has opened up great opportunities for South African designers like Stoned Cherrie, David Tlale, Gavin Rajah, Marc & Michael, JJ Schoeman, and Palesa Mokubung who were among the top designers selected to adorn the beautiful hopefuls, and showcase their creations.

From designers struggling for events and ways to professionally showcase their creations, to multiple fashion weeks around the South African region highlighting both its biggest names, and rising stars like David Tlale, Sun Goddess, Stone Cherry, Bongiwe Walaza, Gideon, Craig Native, and Gavin Rajah.

MTN Durban Fashion Week

 The MTN Durban fashion week featured established designers like Gideon, Vino, Chimero, Karishma Karishna, Stephan Van Eeden, Craig Native, Lindiwe Khuzwayo, Leigh Schubert and Gavin Rajah. New designers also had an opportunity to showcase what they’ve got to provethey have what it takes to survive in this industry. This year’s collection was more fun , colorful, creative, and very impressively sophisticated. Watch out Jimmy Choo, Mark Jacob, Christian Dior, Keneth Cole and Michael Kors because these African designers are serious about taking over.
