Fela gets 11 TONY nominations.

L’homme derrière Jamhuri Wear fait la Une du Magazine “Arise”

Depuis son arrivée en 2003 dans le monde de la mode à New York, Jeffrey Kimathi s’est avéré être une force irrépressible qui est en train de gagner beaucoup plus d’ampleur dans le milieu, que ce qui a été prédit 7 années auparavant quand il venait tout juste de commencer sa carrière.
 
jamhuriDes années plus tard, la carrière de Kimathi est indiscutable et a connu une forte croissance allant d’une ligne de t-shirts à une marque qui a de plus en plus à offrir avec des “hoodies” et des accessoires.  C’est un homme dont la détermination et l’effort ont attiré l’attention de P-Diddy, Ludacris et Jay-Z qui est un grand fan de la marque. Nos représentants d’Afrique à savoir K’Naan et Akon, ont été vus à plusieurs reprises porter la marque Jamhuri.
 
 Où que vous pouvez aller dans tous les faubourgs, dans toutes les différentes régions du pays, vous êtes sûr de trouver des fans jeunes et moins jeunes, qui portent les vêtements Jamhuri et les incorporent dans le monde de leur mode.
 
 Cet homme n’est pas un suiveur, mais un chef de fil en ouvrant la voie aux arts africains à New York et au-delà. Récemment, Kimathi a fait la une du magazine ARISE, qui  a représenté sa marque. La présentation de Jamhuri  est brillante et une premiere dans l’histoire!

It is heartening to see that Will Smith and Jay-Z think that the Fela Kuti musical is worth shelling out millions of dollars to support.    The musical is a tribute to the life of Fela Kuti, a musician who was not afraid to challenge the status quo and call out the corruption he saw in the government.
