When the promos for the Zain 026 experience started running, it was clear that the concert would be the biggest outdoor event Ghana had seen in a long time. With international artists like Wyclef, Eve, and Mario headlining; and supported by 2face Idibia, Obrafour, Tinny, and Kwaw Kesse, nothing could go wrong. Well, almost nothing could go wrong.

Kwaw Kesse to collaborate with Wyclef?
The outspoken and highly unpredictable self proclaimed ‘King of the Streets’, Kwaw Kesse has challenged hip-hop superstar Wyclef Jean who is currently in Ghana for the ‘Zain 026 Experience’ concert, to collaborate with him on a track before leaving. Kwaw Kesse threw this open invitation to Wyclef in the full glare of Ghanaian and international media during a press conference ahead of the concert.
Wyclef and Eve promise to thrill Ghanaians Fans
US based Haitian hip-hop superstar Wyclef Jean and top female rapper Eve have both promised Ghanaians of an amazing performances during the highly anticipated ‘Zain 026 Experience’ concert on Saturday November 22, at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.
Both artists, performing in Ghana for the first time, have expressed excitement about their visit and they look forward to having a memorable time with fans at the Ohene Djan Stadium. “It is an honour to be here in Ghana, the number place in Africa for me…we came to do our thing…We are excited to be here”, said Wyclef, while Eve remarked, “I am very happy, very pleased, very honored to be here in Ghana…I have been wanting to come here for a long time…thank you for having me…come out for the show, you will surely have a good time”. » Read more…
MTN honours Ghana’s Finest Icons
MTN has marked its first year anniversary in Ghana by honoring some of Ghana’s biggest icons in sports, arts and culture. The event which was dubbed, ‘Ghana’s Finest Icons’ honored the likes of Jerry Hanson, leader of the world-acclaimed Ramblers International Band; and Professor Atuquaye Okai, a world-reknowned poet, and president of the Pan-African Writers Association. The Accra Hearts of Oak football club was also honored for their glorious achievements in league football on the local and continental scene. All inductees of the MTN Ghana’s Finest Icon received a plaque and 10,000 USD.
The special anniversary celebration was marked with fashion shows and music performances by some Ghanaian music icons such as Kojo Antwi, Amakye Dede, Oheneba Kissi, the Winneba Youth Choir, Obrafour, Tic Tac and Samini. Samini, Kojo Antwi, and Black Stars’ star players Stephen Appiah and Michael Essien were also unveiled as MTN music and football icons. Essien’s mother was available to represent her son, the darling of Ghanaian soccer.
