She was touted as the house gossip in the third season of Big Brother Africa but Ghana’s former rep to the hit reality series, Mimi Abu Adani, is making new waves for herself. Mimi, alias ‘Divalish’, also known as ‘Ghana’s Lady Gaga’, has finally released her ‘Music in Me’ album as a testament to her innate talent and passion for singing.

9ice Rocks Ghana to ‘Gongo Aso’

The multi-award winning Nigerian hip-hop artist 9ice on Saturday treated a limited audience at the Accra International Conference Center to an energetic performance in a gig dubbed ‘Ghana 9ice Concert’.

Without a doubt, the Yoruba rapper is currently one of Nigeria’s foremost musical culture exponents. Ghana gets a Music Video Awards

For the first time in the history of Ghanaian entertainment, an award ceremony that fully rewards artists and directors of music videos took place in Ghana. The maiden edition of the 4syte Music Video Awards came last Saturday at the Accra International Conference amidst fantastic musical performances and cheerful jubilations. Since this was the first ever music video awards, it was dedicated to celebrating the most creative concepts and direction from years 2000- 2007. Therefore it was not as competitive as many would have liked it to be.

How Wyclef saved the Zain Experience

When the promos for the Zain 026 experience started running, it was clear that the concert would be the biggest outdoor event Ghana had seen in a long time. With international artists like Wyclef, Eve, and Mario headlining; and supported by 2face Idibia, Obrafour, Tinny, and Kwaw Kesse, nothing could go wrong. Well, almost nothing could go wrong.

For those of us that were at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Saturday November 22, we know that a lot more went wrong. I thought hosting a grand concert of this nature made the stadium a good choice; after all most memorable concerts the world over are held in stadiums. So what went wrong? » Read more…

The outspoken and highly unpredictable self proclaimed ‘King of the Streets’, Kwaw Kesse has challenged hip-hop superstar Wyclef Jean who is currently in Ghana for the ‘Zain 026 Experience’ concert, to collaborate with him on a track before leaving. Kwaw Kesse threw this open invitation to Wyclef in the full glare of Ghanaian and international media during a press conference ahead of the concert.

Tamara crowned Miss Malaika Ghana

miss-malaika-2008.JPGA beautiful 20 year old medical student of the University of Ghana, Tamara Aku Dzormeku was crowned Miss Malaika Ghana 2008 last Saturday at the National Theatre in Accra. As Miss Malaika, she will as a youth Ambassador in the fight against malaria for a year.

Tamara beat 9 other beautiful, intelligent, and clever young ladies for the coveted crown. The contestants thrilled audiences with intelligent insights into social issues ranging from health to politics. Ghana’s upcoming general elections took center stage as one of the issues that were discussed that night. Ja Rule Who?

Kwaw Kesse, Ghana’s self proclaimed King of the Streets has described Ja Rule as a spent force with no relevance in today’s hip-hop world. “Ja Rule isn’t hot any more”, Kwaw Kesse said recently in a TV interview when he was asked about performing with Ja Rule. The two recently shared the stage at the Ghana Music Award beach party and even though Kwaw admitted that Ja Rule was able to excite the crowd, he still maintained that Ja Rule wasn’t hot. “Ghanaians are tired of Ja Rule”, he added.
